
President Droupadi Murmu accepted the resignation of Brig. BD Mishra (Retd.) as the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, a press statement issued by the President’s Secretariat stated.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member Kavinder Gupta has been appointed as the new Lt Governor of Ladakh replacing Mishra.
Ashim Kumar Ghosh and Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju have been appointed as the new Governors of Haryana and Goa, respectively.
The appointments will take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices, the statement read.

Who are the new office-holders?
Kavinder Gupta is a senior BJP leader and has served as the Deputy Chief Minister of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), under Mehbooba Mufti as its CM. He will succeed BD Mishra, who was sworn in to the post on February 19, 2023, as per News18.
Professor Ghosh is an academic and political thinker, who will succeed Bandaru Dattatreya in Haryana.
Raju is a veteran politician and has served as the Union Minister for Civil Aviation. He will succeed PS Sreedharan Pillai in Goa.
The tenure of both, Dattatreya and Pillai commenced in July 7, 2021.
Earlier on July 13, the President nominated four members to Rajya Sabha (Upper House). Among the nominees are former foreign secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla, public prosecutor Ujjwal Deorao Nikam, a veteran social worker and BJP member from Kerala C Sadanandan Master, and a historian and an academic Prof Meenakshi Jain.
