Pressure mounts on Texas Democrats as walkout stretches into a second week

Both sides dug in for a second week of a political standoff in Texas, with Democratic lawmakers promising to stay out of the state until next week to kill a plan to redraw the state’s congressional districts and Gov. Greg Abbott (R) saying he would immediately force them to take up the issue again.
