
Mody brings over 26 years of extensive experience in corporate finance, having held leadership positions across diverse sectors at Barclays, Essel Group, Bennett Coleman, and Suzlon.
He holds a master’s degree in science and finance from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, and began his corporate career with Barclays Bank in London, where he worked for two years.

Prior to joining Sammaan Capital, Mody served as group chief financial officer at Suzlon Group, India’s largest renewable energy solutions provider, for four years.
During his tenure, he spearheaded a major financial turnaround by raising substantial equity and debt from multiple sources, restoring liquidity, and reviving credit ratings. His efforts led to a 22-fold surge in Suzlon’s market capitalisation. Throughout his career, Mody has showcased expertise in fundraising, strategic planning, and M&A.
Sammaan Capital said Mody’s proven strengths in capital raising and operational leadership will be a catalyst for the company’s growth.

In his first big stint in the corporate world with Essel spanning two decades, he worked directly with Chairman Subhash Chandra and was instrumental in some of the most critical and key projects.
He became the chief financial officer of the group, heading the group finance and strategy for its businesses in media & entertainment, news & information, among others.
Shares of Sammaan Capital Ltd ended at ₹137, down by ₹1.61 or 1.16%, on the BSE today, September 4.
