The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings measure universities’ progress toward the UN’s 17 SDGs based on indicators related to teaching, research, outreach, and stewardship. The 2025 edition assessed 2,385 institutions across 130 countries and territories, using performance metrics weighted across research (30%), education (30%), and institutional policies and campus practices (40%).
Shiv Nadar University’s efforts toward SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) include academic programs, interdisciplinary research, food waste monitoring and management, community engagement, and awareness initiatives. Its contributions to SDG 15 (Life on Land) focus on education, research, and activities supporting ecosystem preservation.
The university received a 100% score in several sub-parameters, including SDG reporting, water reuse, affordable and clean energy initiatives, and partnerships aligned with SDG goals.
Commenting on the ranking, Professor Ananya Mukherjee, Vice Chancellor of Shiv Nadar University, said the recognition underscores the university’s commitment to integrating sustainability into research, education, and institutional practices. “We resolve to continue our efforts with even greater conviction towards building a more equitable, sustainable, and resilient future,” she added.
Established in 2011 by the Shiv Nadar Foundation, the university is a multidisciplinary research institution offering undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs.
