
The Japanese investor sold 94.9 million equity shares, or about 2.15% of the company’s paid-up capital, through open market transactions between July 15 and September 2, 2025. The sale, executed by its investment arm SVF II Ostrich (DE) LLC, crossed the 2% disclosure threshold under SEBI’s takeover regulations.

Prior to the transaction, SoftBank held 786.6 million shares, representing 17.83% of Ola Electric. Following the sale, its holding has been reduced to 691.6 million shares, equivalent to 15.68%. SoftBank remains the second-largest shareholder in the EV maker after founder Bhavish Aggarwal.
Shares of Ola Electric Mobility Ltd ended at ₹64.49, down by ₹4.50, or 6.52%, on the BSE.
