
The protest march was being held against EC’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in poll-bound Bihar and allegations of ‘voter fraud’ during the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.
In the video shared by ANI, the former Uttar Pradesh CM was seen jumping over police barricades set up to block the protesting MPs. He jumped onto the opposite side to continue the demonstration. “They are using the police to stop us,” Yadav shouted after crossing the barricades.

Earlier, several senior leaders of the INDIA bloc, including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Sanjay Raut, and Sagarika Ghose, among others, were detained by Delhi Police during the protest march. The INDIA bloc MPs were then corralled into a bus and driven to the Parliament Street police station.
Rahul Gandhi linked the march to the EC as a “fight to save the Constitution” and demanded a ‘pure’ voters list. Speaking with reporters, he said, “The reality is that they cannot talk. The truth is in front of the country. This fight is not political. This fight is to save the Constitution. This fight is for one man, one vote. We want a clean, pure voters list.”

The protest started at the Makar Dwar of Parliament, led by Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi. The MPs launched their march to urge the EC to address their concerns about the alleged ‘voter theft’.
The MPs raised ‘vote chor’ slogans as they marched towards the election body’s office at Nirvachan Sadan before being stopped by police.
Over 300 MPs from both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha took part in the march, which began around 11:30 a.m. Meanwhile, the Delhi Police stated that the MPs did not obtain permission for the march.
