Swiggy Ltd said on Wednesday, March 25, it has partnered with Bengaluru-based AI startup Sarvam to enable multilingual, voice-led commerce across its food delivery, quick commerce, and dining-out services.
However, this is not a built-in feature on Swiggy and its apps. Users will be able to place orders via voice command through Sarvam’s AI platform.
Under the partnership, users will be able to order food and groceries, and book restaurant tables, by speaking in their preferred language to Sarvam’s AI assistant, which will handle discovery, ordering and checkout.
The integration will cover Swiggy’s core offerings, including food delivery, Instamart and Dineout, extending access to users across India’s diverse linguistic base.
The company, however, did not disclose a timeline or financial details of the partnership.

Sarvam’s voice models support 11 Indian languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali and Marathi, and are designed to deliver natural, voice-based interactions, the companies said.
Swiggy’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Madhusudhan Rao said, “By leveraging Sarvam’s sovereign models built for India’s diverse linguistic landscape, alongside secure payments infrastructure, we are creating a distinctly India-first experience. Soon, users will be able to simply ask their AI assistant in their preferred language to order food or groceries, and reserve tables.”
Payments for such transactions will be enabled by Razorpay using UPI-based infrastructure designed for AI-led transactions.
Swiggy said the partnership builds on its earlier efforts to integrate AI across its services, including model context protocol-based integrations and agent-led transaction capabilities.

The move also comes as tech companies in India increasingly look to tap non-English-speaking users, many of whom remain underserved by existing digital commerce platforms and are also considered key to refining and enriching AI ecosystem.
Shares of the company closed at ₹287.15 apiece, up 1.38% today, March 25.
