
The commercial vehicle manufacturer said the orders were awarded through a competitive e-bidding process under the government’s procurement system, with deliveries scheduled in phases as agreed with the respective transport corporations.
The orders have been placed by several STUs, including Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC), Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC), North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC), Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC), Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC), Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC), Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), Haryana Roadways, and the Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU).
Anand S, Vice President and Head of Commercial Passenger Vehicle Business at Tata Motors, said the orders reflect the continued trust of state transport undertakings in the company’s mass mobility solutions.
Tata Motors said the order spans a wide range of its passenger mobility solutions, including Tata Magna, Tata Cityride, Tata Starbus, Tata Starbus Prime, and LPO series buses, designed for intercity, long-haul and intracity operations.
“These cumulative orders strengthen our position as the country’s preferred mobility partner and reinforce our commitment to shaping India’s public transport of tomorrow,” the Vice President added.
The company added that its commercial passenger vehicle portfolio ranges from 9-seater to 55-seater buses across multiple powertrains, supported by a nationwide network of over 4,500 sales and service touchpoints.
For the December quarter, Tata Motors CV reported a 17% rise in revenue to ₹21,533 crore from ₹18,478 crore in Q3FY25. EBITDA margin improved to 12.7% from 12.4%, while EBIT margin expanded sharply to 10.6% from 9.6%.
Shares of the company are trading 311 as of 12.47 pm on Friday. The stock has dropped 18.21% in the past one month.
