Toyota has given its Rumion MPV a major safety boost. From now on, all variants of the Rumion will come equipped with six airbags as standard. The package includes dual front airbags, two side airbags, and curtain shield airbags, making the seven-seater safer for every occupant. To add to this, the top-spec V trim also gets a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).The Rumion, essentially Toyota’s version of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, was already loaded with essentials like ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, ESP, Hill Hold Assist, ISOFIX mounts, rear parking sensors, and a speed alert system. With the six-airbag setup now made standard, the MPV’s safety suite is more complete and competitive.Under the hood, the Rumion is powered by a 1.5-litre K-series petrol engine, paired with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic. Toyota also offers it with a factory-fitted CNG kit, giving buyers multiple options. On the efficiency front, the MPV claims 20.51 km/l with the manual petrol and a frugal 26.11 km/kg with the CNG.
Inside, the Rumion features a 17.78 cm touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Toyota’s i-Connect system with smartwatch compatibility, voice assistant, and remote vehicle controls. The cabin is designed for families with flexible seating, a reclining third row, 60:40 split second-row seats, and dedicated AC vents for the second and third rows.On the outside, the MPV carries over projector headlamps, a chrome-detailed grille, and dual-tone alloy wheels. Prices for the updated Toyota Rumion remain unchanged, starting at Rs 10.44 lakh, ex-showroom, and going up to Rs 13.62 lakh, ex-showroom, depending on the variant.
