
The punitive rate follows the US DoC’s application of the “adverse facts available” methodology in its investigation — typically invoked when necessary information is not provided in a timely or adequate manner. The move could severely impact Ecopure’s access to the US market, a key destination for its organic agricultural exports.
Ecopure has said it is currently evaluating all available legal remedies in response to the development. The company is expected to explore options including appeals and administrative reviews to challenge the decision.
The imposition of such a steep CVD comes amid heightened trade scrutiny in the US, particularly in the organic and agricultural commodity sectors, where concerns about subsidies and fair trade practices have taken centre stage.
The shares of LT Foods ended 1.5% in the green at ₹431.5 apiece on Friday, June 20, on BSE.
