At its key Hindustan Zinc business, mined metal production hit a record 11.14 lakh tonnes, up 2% year-on-year, supported by improved ore grades and higher production volumes. Refined zinc output rose 3% to 8.51 lakh tonnes, while quarterly mined metal production stood at a record 3.15 lakh tonnes.
Silver production, however, declined 9% annually to 627 tonnes, despite an 11% sequential rise in the March quarter.
Among other segments, Vedanta reported record annual pig iron production at 8.95 lakh tonnes, up 10%, while copper cathode output rose 15% to 1.70 lakh tonnes. Ferro chrome production jumped 21% to 1.01 lakh tonnes, aided by higher ore availability.
Power sales surged 14% annually to 18,571 million units, with a sharp 43% year-on-year increase in the March quarter, driven by improved plant performance.
