Banerjee’s affidavit states that she does not own any immovable property, vehicle, or major investments such as shares, bonds, or insurance policies.
Her declared assets consist entirely of movable holdings amounting to ₹15,37,509.71, with no liabilities or criminal cases listed — the same status she reported during the 2021 election, as per news agency PTI.
The affidavit indicates that her cash in hand has increased marginally to ₹75,700, up from ₹69,255 earlier. However, bank deposits continue to form the bulk of her savings. She holds over ₹12.7 lakh in bank accounts, including funds.
Receivables such as tax deductions have declined significantly to about ₹40,600, compared with over ₹1.8 lakh declared in 2021, as per PTI.

Despite the slight dip in overall assets, the value of Banerjee’s jewellery has risen.
The affidavit lists 9.75 grams of gold jewellery valued at approximately ₹1.45 lakh, up from around ₹43,800 in the previous declaration — largely reflecting higher gold prices over the past few years.
Income shows upward trend
While her asset base remains modest, Banerjee’s income has grown in recent years. The affidavit records ₹23.21 lakh as total income for 2024–25, compared to ₹10.34 lakh reported for 2019–20 in the earlier filing.
Her earnings have generally ranged between ₹15 lakh and nearly ₹30 lakh annually, with income sources listed as royalties and interest. She continues to describe her profession as social work and politics.
Banerjee had previously been identified as the poorest chief minister in India during the 2021 elections, when her declared assets were also around ₹15 lakh, a report by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) had said, as per News18.

Electoral contest in Bhabanipur
The All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Banerjee is contesting the Assembly polls 2026 from Bhabanipur constituency, where she faces Suvendu Adhikari of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
In the 2021 election, she contested from Nandigram but lost to Adhikari. Later, she won a by-election from Bhabanipur.
The West Bengal Assembly elections will take place in two phases on April 23 and April 29, with results scheduled for May 4.
